Our Mission Statement
The Silhouette Project's mission is to raise awareness of the suicide epidemic our warriors face and spotlight organizations that provide services to our military members, veterans, and their families. The Silhouette Project strives to dispel the stigma associated with mental illness, addiction, and suicide. We will make every effort to raise these brave men and women to the fallen hero status they deserve.
Any military hero, past or present, that was lost to suicide iseligible to be on a silhouette at no charge. Please share your story with me.
When I started this project I was unaware of the opioid crisis that is also affecting many of our heroes. I have had many conversations with moms dealing with a son or daughter's addiction and it can be so terrifying, my heart goes out to them. These stories need to be shared, many of these "addicts" started with a prescription and they need our help, not judgments, to get well again.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to send me an e-mail email@example.com, put Silhouettes in the subject line. The silence needs to be broken!
Below are the forms to submit a hero and the form to request the silhouettes for display. The Silhouettes are free to any non-profit organization that offers services to veterans.
Sincerely, Linda Lajoie, Founder of the Silhouette Project, Mother to Dustin Hadfield, the reason for this project.
